Arms Licensing
Facilitating the issuance and renewal of arm licenses with strict adherence to legal standards.
- Valid Reason for Possession:
-
You must have a genuine reason for owning a firearm, such as
self-defense (where there is a proven threat to life), sport
shooting, or crop protection. "Self-defense" alone, without a
demonstrated need, is often not sufficient.
- Safe and Secure Storage:
-
The firearm and ammunition must be stored separately in a secure,
locked container (like a steel cupboard or safe) to prevent access
by unauthorized persons, especially children. The keys must be in
your personal possession.
- Prohibition of Public Carry:
-
You cannot carry your licensed firearm in public places, gatherings,
or educational institutions. It is strictly for use at your declared
premises (home, business) or while in transit to a shooting range,
with the relevant permissions.
- No Transfer of Ownership:
-
You cannot sell, gift, or transfer your licensed weapon to any other
person. The license is non-transferable. If you wish to sell, the
transaction must be processed through the licensing authority, who
will issue a new license to the buyer.
- Renewal is Mandatory:
-
An arms license is not permanent. It is valid for a specific period
(typically 3 or 5 years). You must apply for renewal well before the
expiry date. Possessing a firearm with an expired license is a
serious offense.
